How little, for the -most part,. .we stay-at-homes appre- ciate
the great tasks which are being carried on by the rank and file of our Colonial Service Under tropic skies ! Merely because our idea of our Imperial responsibilities has widened, and we now realize that our task is that of trusteeship for backward peoples, to help them till such a time as they are able to govern themselves, we should not- lessen the pride we take in the achievements of people of our race throughout the globe. Yet we are singularly unmindful of some of the great work which is being performed under the British flag in wresting order out of chaos in tropical Africa.
