A fire broke out late on Monday night at Park
Villa, Twickenham, the residence of Mrs. White, sister of Sir John St. Aubyn. Mrs, White was very eccentric ; she lay in bed during the day, and sat up at night. About eleven o'clock, Miss White was seen by a policeman running out of the house, exclaiming that it was on fire : flames were seen issuing from Mrs. White's bed-room, and were not extinguished till the entire building was destroyed. There is no doubt that Mrs. White was burnt to death : her body has not been found.
