The Goatleys
Sir: Two interesting points arise from Dr John Linklater's account of the Goatley family (December 1). What, in his professional opinion, is the likely effect on the Goatley Children of growing up in an environment where the daily bread (and jam) is won by occasionally "going round the Welfare"?
And what would "social justice" fix as a good wage for miners if 09 a week free of deductions is considered reasonable for the Goatleys? C. W. Bond 88 Lower Bristol Road, Weston-SuperMare, Somerset
