Happily married

Sir: I refer to the review by Miss Furness of High Life, Low Life (15 August), quoting Mr Bernard's inaccurate description of my legal status. (Mrs followed by her christian name denotes a woman divorced from her husband.) With you I beg to differ, It matters quite a lot, I may be just a thwacker, Divorcee I am not.

My husband he assures me This state will never be; For though with vim and vigour I'll punish and abuse, I also have the talent To cherish and amuse.
