ROYAL LONDON MUTUAL
A feature of the accounts of the leading insurance companies this year has been the fact that they have come through the Stock Exchange recession of 1937 with their investment portfolios still worth substantially more than their balance- sheet values. Mr. J. K. Wiseman, who presided at the meeting of the Royal London Mutual Insurance Society on Tuesday, made the same point. The society has a substantial margin over book values and its investment reserve funds remain intact.
