Back to the front
Sir: In his attack on the colour supple- ments (14 June) Bill Grundy singles out an article on Ethiopia in the Sunday Times Magazine with pictures by John Bulmer and text by myself.
'How impressed can I be,' he asks, `by a leper resting her stumps in a doorway when on the next page I am being tempted to fly Lufthansa to Buenos Aires—and not, presumably, to check on the poverty there?'
The same issue of the SPECTATOR con-
tains a splendid article by Auberon Waugh on the sufferings of Biafra, backed by the one full-page advertisement in the issue: 'Let us take you out of all this ... Pan Am makes the going great.'
Are you impressed, Bill Grundy?
