PC zealotry From Mr John Dennehy Sir: Sadly, I have
to tell Alan Cochrane that neither California nor the burgeoning Peo- ple's Republic of Scotland can yet lay claim to being the 'most politically correct society on God's earth' ('The new Calvinists', 14, August). That dubious privilege may yet be claimed by New Zealand, where one can enjoy a `ploughpersons [sic] lunch' served by the `waitstaff.
Oh, and be careful not to fall down the `personhole cover' outside.
