The moving finger
AN improvement on my plan for the Goldsmith statue comes from Nicholas Sibley, Barclays de Zoete Wedd's taipan in Hong Kong. Briefly manifesting himself this week in a City champagne bar, Mr Sibley argued that the statue should be mounted on wheels. It could then be towed around, and parked outside other head offices where shareholders might benefit from the Goldsmith menace. Millbank Tower suggests itself to me — home both of Pearson and of Vickers. The golden finger points!
