The next step was for the Executive to decide what
the guiding principles should be. Last Saturday the Executive submitted to the Conference the following six points :— " (1) The method of ascertaining the district's percentage on basic rates to be as provided by the National Agreement of 1924. (2) The ratio of division of net proceeds to be 87 to l3. (a) A minimum percentage to be provided of not less t 20 per cent. upon the standard wages prevailing April 30th, 1926.
The payment of April, 1926, subsistence wages to logs. day wage men.
All agreements to be terminable by one month's not from eithor side.
Districts to endeavour to effect the complete reinstatert of all men and boys employed at April 30th, 1926, on t
lines provided by Clause 13 of the- National W Agreement of 1921."
These principles were unanimously approved tho nobody supposes that the Federation will have the poll even if it has the will to insist upon them.
