Sir: I have a short and positive response to the

suggestion put forward by a Mr Steven Rawson, that one Craig Brown should replace the columnist who writes Wallace Arnold. You would lose my subscription! Not because I am a fan of Arnold, far from it, he represents the worst bit of your otherwise excellent magazine — no not that, it's the appallingly puerile level of C. Brown's work that I couldn't bear seeing, let' alone reading. Let him stay a talentless hack on that daily rag.

Incidentally, I suppose we must assume Mr Rawson to be American!
