I have always thought that the first half of Landor's
famous quatrain I strove with none; for none was worth mY strife;
Nature I loved, and, next to Nature, Art;
I warmed both hands before the fire of life; It sinks, and I am ready to depart.
is rather unworthy of the' second. I can therefore offering the LS prize this week for an alternative version (not a parody) of the first two lines only.
