SIR,—In your article Labour's Claims you maintain that the present

Government cannot receive credit for the fact that there is full employ- ment, since the needs of reconstruction and the receipt of Marshall Aid have made it inevitable. I know that this is a widely held thesis, but I wish somebody would explain to me why other " Marshall " countries, whose reconstruction needs are no less pressing than ours, nevertheless seem to have considerable unemployment.—I am, Sir, yours faithfully, /5 Hariswood Road, W.12.
