in type, the bills nave been issued announcing that Covent Garden will open on Saturday next, with Miss ADELAIDE "(EDIBLE in Norma, and a new petite comedy by DoucLas JERROLD, called Gertrude's Cherries. The other vocalists engaged are Mademoiselles RAINFORTH, Pomp., and LAND, and MeSSTEL CHISELS', HARRISON, LEFFLER, and BINGE. On the Monday following, a new play by the author of "The Provost of Bruges," en- titled Love's Sacrifice, or the Rival Merchants, is to be produced ; with Mr. and Miss VANDENHOFF and Mr. CHARLES PITT (from the Edin- burgh Theatre) in addition to the principal members of the last Covent Garden company, Mr. FARREN and the late lessees excepted. Mrs. ALFRED SHAW is to make her London debfit as Arsace in Semiramide, with Miss KEMBLE, who is to sustain the character of the heroine ; but the day is not named. It is definitively stated that Miss KEMBLE will finally retire from the stage at Christmas ; until when she will perform three times a week.
