Q. May I draw your attention to an error which
appeared last week? Lady Trowbridge should have been spelt Lady Troubridge.

The allusion might otherwise have been lost for those unfamiliar with Lady Troubridge, etiquette expert of the early 20th century. Her Christian name was Laura and she should not be confused with the other Lady Troubridge — Una, who lived with Radclyffe Hall for many years and whose stepgrandson was the first husband of the glamorous and popular Princess Michael of Kent.
