Sir: I have just received my copy of The Spectator
— unusually early. Although I also take the Economist, if The Speccie comes first I get stuck into it. The first arti- cle I turned to was Dominic Lawson's (19 November).
This is one of the best articles I have ever read. I hope he is not intimidated now or in the future by any of these 'so-called ' politi- cally correct twits, in Europe, in America or elsewhere.
As I get older, it seems one is no longer able to have a meaningful conversation, expressing one's views as one sees things, before one or two of the party remove themselves, apparently objecting to one's candour. It's happening all the time here and it's not because I speak English. Nor- way is yet another example of a nation try- ing hard not to offend anyone.
I am glad Dominic Lawson has the guts to speak out. I like it; keep up the good work.
