Helping Tibet
Sir: Following your ,recent very cogent articles on Tibet your readers might like to consider charitable contributions to the UK Tibet Relief Fund.
The Fund is operated by the Tibet Society of the UK. The Society's address is Olympia Bridge Quay, Russell Road, Kensington, London W14 (tel. 01 603 7764). In the past two years the Fund disbursed £51,648 and £40,713 for the benefit of Tibetan exiles in India, in such fields as agricultural settlement, craft in- dustry, repair of storm damage, health and education. Since its foundation in 1959 the Society has supported the right of Tibetans to independence and helped them to pre- serve their identity, now so gravely threatened by the importation into Tibet of millions of Chinese settlers.
