We are happy to record that Squadron-Leader Maclaren, who when
we went to press last week was lost in the Pacific between the Northern Island of Japan and the coast of Kamchatka, has been found on the Island of Urup, where he lay fog-bound. He left- Urup on Wednesday at 7.40 a.m., and arrived at Murakami Bay at 6 o'clock the same afternoon. Thus, we may yet hope that he will reach America at any 'rate by the time that the American world-fliers get home. He is attempting to do, what they have done after very great preparation, with far less elaborate resources, and the risks are very. heavy. We must all wish him well in his very gallant attempt. * * * *
