Memory
Now that the rain has ceased, each branch and leaf Glitters with bubble and bauble ; a breeze stirs Faint as the breath of gently sleeping child, So faint indeed that not a single drop Of rain is shaken from a leaf or twig ; And yet because it brings with it a scent, A bitter dark green scent that stains the mind And wakens memory, this breeze has power To blow all clocks and calendars away.
