The Overseas Empire, in Messrs..Blackie's " Where and Why graphies,"

is an admirable school book at 2s. 6d. We call admirable, for it is clear and intelligible : we can scarcely roplain that it lacks inspiration when it deals with the facts ttered across one quarter of the earth in 160 small pages. t what a canvas this would be for some master artist to int our heritage of Empire in words that would burn mselves into the imagination of our children !
