Whispered by the Leaves. Written and illustrated by Kathleen Lucas.
(Day and Son.)—Here we have stories and pictures which should please the children. The " Story of the First Scareeia," with its curious little brownies, the " Three Little Jack-in-the-Boxes," and the sad fate of Ruth's rabbit, as in " What the Beech-Leaves Told," are all good. But shOuld Ruth be represented as holding her rabbit as one holds a kitten P It is an immemorial tradition that bunny should be hold up by its ears.
