Too nasty for words
Sir: A year or two ago your film critic at that time (was it Mr Ackroyd?) wrote the shortest and most pithy review of a film that I have ever read. It was: 'Omen II is worse than Omen I'. While I appreciate that in his review of The Final Conflict (3 October) Mr Ackroyd wishes to investigate the phenomenon of and reasons for the popularity of these appalling films, I would have thought that a simple ranking of the present offering with its two predecessors would have sufficed for readers of the Spectator.
