The American Mission conferred with the War Cabinet and other
Ministers and officials in the Cabinet room at 10 Downing Street on Tuesday. Mr. Lloyd George declared that the most urgent problems were those of man-power and shipping. Much depended on the date at which America could put her first million men into the field in France, and deliver her six million tons of shipping, promised for next year. The Allies were also in great need of aeroplanes and of food, and required American help in. tightening the blockade. Admiral Benson, speaking for the Mission, declared that America would spare nothing to win the war. America's determination is an absolute guarantee of victory.
