Mach sensation was created in Belfast on Wednesday, says the
North- ern Whig of the following day, when the Reindeer steamer arrived from Liverpool, by the announcement that Lord Dufferin and Claneboye had died suddenly on board. He complained of feeling ill, and took a dose of morphine over-night : at nine in the morning he was found dead in his berth. His sister, the Honourable Mrs. Ward, was on board. Lord Dufferin is the third holder of the title who has died within five years. By Helen Selina, granddaughter of Richard Brinsley Sheridan, he has had one son, Frederick, now fifteen years old; who succeeds to the title and large estates.
