The Co - operative Union : Thirty - seventh Annual Co - operative Congress. (Co-operative Union,
Manchester.)—Here we have a report of the proceedings of the Congress; a list of dele- gates, British and foreign; the introductory address delivered by Dr. Hans Muller, of Basle ; various speeches made at the entertainments, &c. ; and a mass of highly interesting statistics. Co-operative production seems to lag behind Co-operative con- sumption. Detailed accounts are given of Co-operative farms. Long Eaton, with 385 acres, made a profit of £406 ; Hucknall Torkard, with 168, lost £148 (there are 110 acres of arable to 58 pasture); Harwich and Dovercourt, £128 profit out of 159 acres ; Assington, with 2231 (181 arable, 22 pasture, and as many as 19 in roads !), £1 19e. 7d. profit ; Bishop Auckland, .417 acres, and £87 lost. This is not encouraging on the whole.
