No support

Sir: I read with great interest the article by Tom Sutcliffe (`Modern Mary Magdalen', 9 November). I endorse many of the points that he makes, but he ignores a major area of contention. Should the Church be seen to be holding a service to support the Gay Lesbian and Christian Movement?

As a Christian, I do not support the Provost • of Southwark on this issue. What next? A service in support of adulterers or thieves? No, of course not, and neither should there be one in support of gays.
