An entertaining volume of True Irish Ghost Stories has been
compiled by the Rev. St. John D. Seymour and Mr. Harry L. Neligan (Humphrey Milford, 3s. 6d. net). By the epithet "true" it is meant that the majority of the stories were sent to Mr. Seymour as first- or second-hand experiences by ladies and gentlemen whose statement on ordinary matters of fact would be accepted without question. He is willing to submit the original letters and documents on which his book is based to the inspection of responsible investigators. Nothing could be fairer; and those who read merely to be amused or thrilled will find an ample supply of suitable material in this well-written and curious book.
