`SPECTATOR COMPETITION No. 245 Set by R. Kennard Davis

England possesses a great number of Drinking Songs, but, as far as I am aware, no Eating Songs. For the usual prize of £5 competitors are invited to remedy this deficiency, in not more than sixteen lines of verse, which may include a chorus.

Entries, addressed 'Spectator Competition No. 245,' 99 Gower Street, London, W.C.1, must be received not later than November 2. Results in the Spectator of November 12.
