Twenty-Five Years as Bishop of London, by Mr. Charles Herbert
(Wells, Gardner, Dalton, 2s. 6d.), is one of those milk-and-water biographies which it is perhaps inevitable should be published during the subjects' lifetime. Yet it serves a purpose. Even if it cannot convey to us the secrets of the Bishop's popularity or that magnetism which will turn' a parade service of soldiers into something like a revival meeting, there are still many people who would like to know more of the Bishop's life.
