The husband in question is an almost impossibly disagreeable person, and it is a relief to the reader when he disappears from the scene.—The House not Made with. Hands. By David Lyall. (Hodder and Stoughton. Os.)—A. carefully constructed picture of upper middle-class life in the provinces. The preponderance of goodness attributed to the Scotch characters over the English is, however, obviously unfair.
