From the address voted by the house of Assembly in reply to Governor Prescott's speech, it appears unlikely that the Exe- cutive and Council will be on better terms whh the House of Assembly than during former sessions. The House steadily' adheres to its claim to decide on the amount of public expenditure, and on the specific objects to which it should be applied, without time intervention of tire Crown. They maintain that the exercise of this right is necessary to make the influence of the people felt in the government of the colony.
