[TO THE EDITOR OP THE "SPECTATOR."] Sum,—A paragraph in the
"News of the Week" of the Spectator of April 15th contains a very erroneous statement regarding the result of the recent elections in this county. You stated that "even in County Down the Nationalists return twelve to eight." The fact is fourteen Unionists (two of whom were unopposed) were returned, and six Nationalists ; 22,794 votes were recorded for Unionist candidates, and 7,927 for Nationalists.—I am, Sir, Arc., Gilford, Co.
