Canon Hannay (" George A. Birmingham ") is always a
delightful writer, and in his description of a recent trip to the United States, Connaught to Chicago (James Nisbet and Co., 5s. net), he tells useful and interesting truths with a smiling face.—Another readable work is A Conversational Tour in America, by E. H. Lacon Watson (Elkin Mathews, 2s. 6d. net), who gossips pleasantly of what he saw in the United States and Canada.
