Miscegenation

SIR,—If racial performance or achievement is to be the criterion, as Mr. Nkosi holds, and if we dis- regard the facts of racial evolution and history, then the least Mr. Nkosi should do is to prove that the geniuses who have furnished his mind with such scholarship as he so proudly and arrogantly lays claim to were Negroids and not Caucasoids. And instead of challenging me on fallacious ad hominent grounds he should address himself to the rational inferences drawn from objective reality by those great scientists who have done so much to enlighten us as to the nature of the racial divisions of man- kind and the evolutionary meaning such divisions have for the future survival and progress of the whole species.

It is not possible here to refer in detail to all the expert views on this subject; suffice it to ob- serve that the authorities relied upon by the United Nations, though often self-contradictory in their conclusions, agree that the Negroid brain not only weighs less on average than the European, but that 'Negro and white are in no respect identical either intellectually or emotionally.'
