The Earl and Countess of Aberdeen entertained a large party on Satur- day last, on occasion of the christening of an infant son. The ceremony was performed by the Archbishop of Canterbury ; the sponsors were the Duke of Wellington and Lord Manners ; the child is named Arthur, after the Duke. The Earl and Countess went to Brighton on Monday.
The Duke of Devonshire has gone to Brighton for a few days.
Mr. Greenwood entertained the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester on 'Wednesday. Mr. Alexander Baring will, it is said, be promoted to the peerage.
