Figures given last week to indicate the part played by
the Hurri- cane in the Battle of Britain show that more than half the Ger- man machines destroyed in that epic struggle were ' the victims of Hurricanes, which therefore achieved more than all other types of machine and anti-aircraft batteries combined. Lord Brabazon was justified in pointing out that the Hurricane was entirely the product of private enterprise. The credit for its birth and pro- duction in numbers sufficient to. turn the scale belongs primarily to Mr. T. 0. M. Sopwith—and the debt is beyond payment. * * * *
