Collector's corner

Sir: The other day I passed a shop which displayed for sale — at outrageous prices — specially designed paperweights in limited editions. For years I have been collecting objects designed as paperweights; objects which will serve as paperweights; and pieces of stone of attractive grain which can be turned into paperweights. Some of these last I have had polished and mounted. Until I passed the shop, however, I had not thought that there might be a science, or hobby, of paperweighting. '

I appeal through your columns for further information; and the prospect of further pleasure. Perhaps there is even a club I may join.
