Men of the Sixties

Sir: How I agree with my fellow Glaswe- gian Martin Roberts (Letters, 10 Novem- ber) about the influence of university teaching in the 1960s! I am sure that I too, like Colin Welch and Mrs Thatcher, would not be where I am except for the influence of Maurice Cowling and the Reverend Edward Norman.
