Sir: Any slight reservation one might have entertained regarding The Spectator being `magazine of the year' (Leading article, 25 February) was instantly suppressed by the matchless Paul Johnson review in the same issue.

The elegance of the title, 'Get stuffed, Poussin', and the urbanity of the article itself, with its references to the painter being a Frog (a crucial point, often over- looked), dispel all doubt.

Here indeed is a journal worthy of today's Britain.
