A hack's life

Sir: I read with interest the article written by Stephen Glover (Media studies, 12 September) and I would like to clarify a few points. Mr Glover refers to redundancy pay- ments in James Hughes-Onslow's case. It is not a redundancy. His job has been filled. However, we were keen for James to contin- ue to write features for us on a freelance basis. Unfortunately he turned this offer down. We are pleased to see that Mr Hughes-Onslow has taken up our offer of getting some good legal advice.
