Other People's Stairs. By Isabella loyvie Mayo. (R.T.S.)— " Other
people's stairs" are what a famous exile found so grievous. Morag Henderson goes through the same experience on a humble scale. Suddenly orphaned, she is thrown on the hands of a hard and selfish relative, and exchanges, not unwillingly, this position of dependence for service. Her experiences in service are various ; and described by Miss Mayo with much power. If only the right people would read these things ! Only, unfortunately, when by chance they do read them, they fail to see the application. There is plenty of wit and wisdom in Miss Mayo's story.
