Sir: When Mr Gordievsky comments on the possible repercussions to others of Aldrich Ames's 'treachery' (`Aldrich Ames, my would-be killer', 5 March), surely he is at the same time conveniently ignoring the effect of his own betrayal in reverse circum- stances?
