Sex and seniority

Sir: Regarding Taki's column last week (High life, 5 February), intense negotia- tions — verbal rather than Ugandan provided our list of Britain's sexiest men over 40 and we agreed not to rate them in pecking order. The listing was to aid identi- fication in captions, not in order of merit, so Taki should not feel slighted that he came in at number 37.

Grovelling apologies for including The Spectator's sainted editor when he is still well away from his 40th birthday. But I hope he feels the added years were compensated for by being listed.
