On Monday Riza Khan, the capable General who has governed

Persia for some time, was proclaimed Shah in place of the deposed sovereign. He hasuot taken long to make up his mind that he would rather found a dynasty than rule as President of a Republic. There is nothing to be said Against his preference ; nearly all Oriental dynasties have been founded-in this -way. We sincerely hope that under his strong hands Persia will enjoy n great revival.
