to Easter. (J. S. Virtue.)—It is no easy task that the writer has set before herself. Stories so directly didactic are difficult things to manage, the hard thing being to give them a natural development. On the whole, Mrs. Jones has achieved a success. We do not always find ourselves in agreement with her views, but heartily recognise the merits of her book.
