The cholera has made its appearance at Glasgow. On Saturday there were reported 31 cases, on Sunday 30 more. The Sanitary Committee held a meeting on Sunday night, and resolved to adopt the system of house-to-house visitation. The deaths amounted to 15 on Saturday, 27 on Sunday, 16 on Monday, and 14 on Tuesday.
The Greek Professorship of King's College, Aberdeen, is vacant by the death of Dr. Hugh Macpherson, who expired on Sunday. Ile had held the chair for fifty-seven years. Now that the old tests are abolished, it is not necessary that the new Professor should be a member of the Esta- blished Church.
