The resignation of Lord Wolverhampton was announced or Thursday. Lord
Wolverhampton, who is said to be the first Wesleyan Peer, has throughout his long life been a worthy representative of moderate Liberalism. Failing health has latterly withdrawn him from public life, but his retirement sensibly diminishes the stock of ballast in the Cabinet. Lord Wolverhampton is succeeded by Lord Beauchamp,
