The Queen of Portugal. on the 4th instant, dissolved the

Cortes, which had only been assembled in an extraordinary ses- sion a week before. The votes of the majority in both Houses against the appointment of the Prince FERDIrvarm to the post. of Commander-in Chief, influenced the Government to take this step. The new Cortes have been summoned to meet on the 15th of August.
