Sober history, for instance, tells us that the relations of the United States to the Barbary pirates were not quite so creditable as Miss Wright fancies ; some of us, again, believe that their conduct in 1812 to this country

was ungenerous. But it is well for our young people to see the other side. As to the greater part of the subjects treated, there need be no difference of opinion.
