The Living God the Saviour of All Men. By R.
W. Dale. (Jackson, Walford, and Hodder.)—A spirited but rather lengthy sermon preached. before the Directors of the London Missionary Society in May last. The favourite sneer against missionary enterprise, that the converts are no better than the unconverted natives, Mr. Dale answers with much truth. Christianity does not make men perfect. It only gives them new motives for holiness. It took generations to bring European. Christians even to their present very imperfect state, and of course the evil habits of the oonvorts still cling to them. Still it is not true that the Christian communities are no better than the heathen.
