Day and Night
SIR,—While the illuminated night-signs in Trafalgar Square are being subjected to such criticism, why not raise the question of the day-signs too ? There is a—particularly hideous one on the south side of the square, at about second-floor height. The site belongs, rather ironically, to that great amenity-loving body, the London ,County Council, who derive a large annual income from its advertising possibilities.—Yours
